Duluth’s easternmost neighborhood, North Shore’s identity is anchored around its proximity to Lake Superior. The North Shore Scenic Highway, considered a national scenic byway, runs through this neighborhood and connects the City of Duluth with the Canadian border, some 140 miles to the north. The North Shore Scenic Highway is a designated bike route, and abundant opportunities to access Lake Superior’s shore have been developed throughout this area, such as Duluth’s Brighton Beach. Higher elevations of this neighborhood near Moose Mountain offer breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Superior.
