Located on Minnesota Route 23 between Fond du Lac and Morgan Park, this St. Louis River neighborhood was once largely influenced by the expansive US Steel plant. This area is undergoing an economic rebirth, with the relocation of some notable manufacturing firms to this area, while the City of Duluth and other local development authorities have plans to further expand the economic base of this neighborhood. The unique, two-level Oliver bridge (rail lines on the top deck, car route on the bottom) connects this neighborhood to Oliver, Wisconsin. Home to Duluth’s Stowe Elementary School.
