Visit the Duluth Depot

A hub of Duluth since 1892, the Duluth Depot houses eight organizations under one roof.

“The Duluth Depot is fortunate to be the home to eight different organizations. There are three exhibiting organizations displaying collections of artifacts and artwork; the Lake Superior Railroad Museum,  St. Louis County Historical Society,  and Duluth Art Institute. The North Shore Scenic Railroad is a seasonal scenic railroad that boards at the Duluth Depot, and their Ticket Office is adjacent to the train museum. There are also four performing arts organizations that call the Duluth Depot their home. The Duluth Playhouse  is our local community theater company and has both a Main Stage as well as the Underground theater in this building. The Minnesota Ballet  has the School of the MN Ballet classes in their Depot Studios, on our lower level. And the Arrowhead Chorale  and Matinee Musicale have office space at the Depot in addition to hosting performances in the Great Hall. With all of these amazing organizations housed under one really large, very beautiful roof, it is easy to see why the Duluth Depot is the area’s hub for arts, history, and culture.”

Take a tour of Glensheen Historic Mansion.

Glensheen is the most visited historic home in Minnesota. The 12-acre estate features gardens, bridges, and the famous 39-room mansion built with remarkable 20th century craftsmanship, telling the story of the Duluth region.

One Destination Duluth fan commented on our page “I was there about ten years ago. I was in Duluth for work. Someone suggested we go see the old Mansion. It was absolutely the highlight of my trip. I still tell people about it and how amazing it was. I will never forget how beautiful the estate is. Glensheen will be forever in my mind. Thank you for allowing this to be a part of so many people's lives.” Lorna, Fort Payne, Alabama
